1more-chance:

I’m getting paid to create an email newsletter type thing in HTML format. But it’s way harder than I thought it was going to be. And anything I know in HTML, is ghetto and what I have taught myself over the years. So I’m watching a tutorial online, but it doesn’t help too much, because I’ll just end up creating what the guy in the tutorial is creating, and not what I specifically need. I literally just don’t know enough..but I need to. Gah. Frustrated.

Once you get the standard bare-bones:

<html>

<head>

<title>Insert webpage title</title>

</head>

<body>

Where your content goes.

</body>

</title>

Or something similar to that, it will be simple. Once you get the basics of adding pictures like <a href=”insert link here”>text</a> you will do just great.

My computer has been on for almost 35 hours. Do you think it’s okay to leave it on for just one more night?

(The reason I don’t switch off my computer is because it doesn’t fucking switch back on, ugh)

?

There are networks of computers, servers for example, that stay on for as long as possible—weeks, months, years, etc—to keep the internet alive. I am sure if your computer doesn’t last at least a week, without being turned off or restarted, then your computer definitely needs some maintenance.

Apple Loses Its Claim-to-fame "It Just Works" Statement.

Not officially of course. I just sort of laughed at how ridiculous it was to say in the first place that Apple “didn’t have viruses”, trojans or whatever. Anything can be hacked one way or another—physically through the hardware or by amazing coders of software. An Apple computer is still a PC just with a branded-name. I predict wonderful things, including from Apple, but in the near future they won’t be as relevant anymore—especially without Steve Jobs. Their stocks will fall, but not to the point of bankruptcy, but only to the point of being over-shadowed by other companies, moguls, organizations, etc.

Maybe Linux will get more support and actually get somewhere huge in the operating system world.

Will The Tablet Pc Be Switched By The Notebook?

danielsmith479:

Tablet PcActually considering the fact that the phenomenal accomplishment of Apple’s tablet laptop or computer, the iPad, speculation has operate rampant: will the tablet switch the laptop and desktop computer systems? While using look of the iPad two, coupled with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, Blackberry Playbook and HP TouchPad, small business pros and college students are voting with their purchases. Seemingly in droves, these teams are embracing their tablets although abandoning their previous adore, the laptop.Why would that be? The advantage of a tablet laptop or computer more than a laptop is dimension and weight. Tablets are substantial more than enough…

As a prosumer, I go beyond just being a regular consumer. I love to produce things. When I buy products, I would love it to be able to make even more things. Tablets aren’t ideal to be used as servers, produce audio recordings and/or video editing. A tablet is pretty much a beefed up writing pad that requires power. Compare a person’s comprehension between taking notes on a tablet and a person writing notes on paper in class—you will see the sufficiency. Tablets are definitely handy, so are watches and cameras. Just because there is an all-in-one product, that Apple loves to produce, doesn’t mean its best or great in any way shape or form. “Convenience.” I like to refer to Wall-E. All the people are fat in general. I am not saying that is fact, but in Colorado we are worried about obesity while we are also one of the top healthy states in the United States. What does that say?

It says a lot.

Luckily this isn’t an essay, but more of a person reflection of life. I cherish it.

Someone help me construct a PC for gaming!

my-name-is-mario:

Things to consider: Small budget, I’m just a teenager, it’ll take me some time to get all these things, I don’t know much on building computers.

Now I want to start with 2 dual core processors because quad just seems too much
Still not sure what I’m going to do about fans or vents
I need help choosing a motherboard
I want RAM, 3-5 GB should be fine for gaming (right?)
Major help with power supply
I can find a case some other time
Not sure what I’m doing with drives

Definitely wait for huge sales. Sure, if you want to buy things—like now—definitely don’t wait for the next Black Friday or Christmas sales, but maybe look for sales during upcoming holidays in the next few months. Plan out what you want and just patiently purchase the components you need.

Processor/Motherboard: Don’t skimp on the processor. Microcenter has a great a deal on pretty good motherboards that come with a free or discounted AMD processor that starts from dual-core, tri-core, quad-core and I think 6-core (I’m not sure about the 6-core). I am an AMD fan, but at this moment Intel has the best processors for your buck. Definitely look at Microcenter for that deal.

Tower/Case: Google quiet/silent pc. You will get a good website that offers options for the quietest fans/towers/vents/etc. It is super worth it to get good fans at a decent price with little-to-no sound emitting from the moving parts. Try to get 120 fans, which are bigger and produce more air movement while not being as weak as the smaller fans.

RAM: Get a minimum of 4gb, but 6-12gb isn’t that expensive anymore. Once again, wait for sales.

Power Supply: make sure you get a PS that is compatible with your motherboard. I personally want 500+ watts (anything below may not be able to properly power your computer).

Hard-drives: Since you are on a budget, don’t even think about getting Solid State Drives. You are more likely going to get better results (with your dollars) from getting a 500gb-1tb internal hdd with 7200rpm. Then if you are in need of more space, just get an external hdd of 1-2tb which are actually getting decently priced of 100-200 dollars, but definitely hold off on that extra space until later.

Removable disc media: I personally have a blu-ray writer for around $100, but a DVD-RW is just fine if you are just gaming. Usually below $100 for that, but it all depends on brand and stuff.

Graphics card: I know you didn’t mention this, but like the processor, don’t skimp on this component either. This will probably be your focus since you want a gaming computer.

Hope this helped. I know I didn’t give specific examples like brands and such, but what I said will help/guide you a lot better than just google/searching “best budget gaming computer system.”

Help, Asking for

I love that people are so capable these days with computers. Now everyone instantly (or with a little to no learning curve) can easily do E-mail, social networking and other Internet related activities, but when it comes to an actual computer problem, they freeze and become dumb. They wonder why something won’t work right or something isn’t going how they like on the computer. I’m like, “You aren’t dumb, search for it online.” I would say “Google it” but I am not going to make myself seem ignorant similar to when someone would say “where is your MP3 players” and when they show you something that isn’t an Ipod they say “that isn’t an MP3 player.”

computermind:

RAM (random access memory) is the place in a computer where the operating system, application programs, and data in current use are kept so that they can be quickly reached by the computer’s processor…. RAM is much faster to read from and write to than the other kinds of storage in a computer, the hard disk, floppy disk, and CD-ROM. However, the data in RAM stays there only as long as your computer is running…… When you turn the computer off, RAM loses its data………. When you turn your computer on again, your operating system and other files are once again loaded into RAM, usually from your hard disk………..

I like to call the computer&#8217;s ram a version of short term memory. After a shut-down command, it cleans out this memory, but if its after an execution of sleep and/or hibernation command, it will save the memory so that your session can easily be recovered without much effort. I loved learning about the similarities between the human body function and anatomy with computers. I felt that much smarter when I built my very first computer back when I started high school.

When people make a “computer” mistake and say “I want a Mac.”

No you dumb-fuck, the computer isn’t making an issue for you. The Mac would have done the same mistake because the end-user, aka you, would have done the same mistake.
